We design as much as we can upfront, using our building knowledge, to ensure your design is buildable. The 3D house design software then lets you walk through the spaces so you can understand them intimately and ensure they meet your needs. Before you’ve purchased even a stick of timber.

We believe that you deserve transparency at all stages of the project, from where the deposit is, to what the budgets are looking like. You can access this information at any time via our online portal.
Online project management system
This centralises all project information and communication, so everyone’s on the same page. Even if you’re located remotely, you can log in to see how things are progressing.
Personalised communication
You’ll experience a high level of communication specific to your needs. For example, if you’re too busy and can’t get to site but want to understand the highlights, we’ll create a weekly site video for you. Otherwise, you are welcome to attend weekly or fortnightly site meetings. And clients who want to understand all the details are invited to a weekly project management meeting.

Meet the management team
Adam Leonard, Director & Project Manager
Adam Leonard is your key contact throughout the building process, organising and sometimes even swinging a hammer for your project.
Adam is a third-generation carpenter, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, who were both well-respected builders. Adam takes real pride in his workmanship to maintain the Leonard family’s long-earned reputation in the building business.
Having been on building sites for the majority of his life with his father and then starting his own apprenticeship in 2002, Adam is deeply familiar with all aspects of residential construction.
Adam founded LC Designer Homes in 2009 with the aim of being one of the best builders on Auckland’s North Shore, completing the best home renovations and the best new builds.
Adam is an excellent communicator, ensuring that clients are right up to speed with progress on site. He’s also a great problem solver and the ultimate perfectionist – he expects the very best workmanship from the LC Designer Homes team as well as from sub-contractors.

Michelle Leonard, Architectural Design Team Leader
Michelle is creative but practical: she’ll ensure that your building project is as functional as it is beautiful.
During the design process, Michelle will find out exactly what you want and need from your project, so she can then translate what you need into “builder talk” for the construction team. And if you don’t already have plans drawn up, Michelle will create them for you.
Michelle’s experience in working with cutting-edge drafting software began in 2005, and she’s worked for some of NZ’s largest architectural firms. However, Michelle actually started drawing pretend house plans when she was just 8 years old – it’s what she does for fun as well as for work!
For you, this means she’s a real whizz at bringing your building ideas to life: as well as drawing up concept plans and final designs, she’ll also create 3D models so you can virtually walk through your new or remodelled space. This is a real asset for clients who find it hard to visualise plans.

Michelle has a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Studies as well as a National Diploma in Architectural Technology, is a Licensed Building Practitioner, and is a member of Architectural Designers .
